Made in Britain
The provenance of our dresses is incredibly important to us and we are passionate about supporting British craftsmanship. All of our dresses are made in Great Britain, using only the highest quality fabrics from the best mills.
Each dress is hand sewn in London by a team of impeccable seamstresses. Every design is carefully trialled over many months to assess durability, testing multiple fabrics on each style before concluding which best supports the structure and tailoring of each dress.
Our beautiful, natural fabrics are all woven in a selection of the best mills in Italy and England which are then cut and sewn in London. All our dresses are fully lined in silk and we have committed to use no synthetic fabrics or blends in our designs.
Our barathea is produced by A W Hainsworth & Sons, one of the oldest textiles companies in Great Britain. Seven generations of the Hainsworth family have been producing woollen textiles since 1783, including the scarlet cloth famously worn at the Battle of Waterloo. At the Royal Wedding in 2011, both Prince William and Prince Harry wore fabric produced at Hainsworth mill. The barathea is a highly versatile woollen cloth with elegant drape and beautiful handle making it the perfect choice for our elegant, tailored dresses.
Our patterns are all custom graded – so often in the past we have felt the difference between commercial sizes was too vast and we were for ever falling uncomfortably in between, necessitating nips and tucks for every new purchase. We hope that our more refined grading solution will solve for this. We have the zips custom made in Italy to achieve the most wonderful blend of durability and elegance.
We have incorporated every element that we had wished for over the years and we are very proud of the results.
